Viewing and exporting the Single-Line Diagram (SLD)

The Monterra single-line diagram (SLD) renders your design as an electrical schematic: power sources, transformers, disconnects, panels with breakers, and the loads downstream of each circuit. Open it once Auto-size has run so breakers and wire sizes are populated.

Opening the SLD

On the Design page, open the right drawer and click Open SLD. Each circuit on the map becomes a branch in the diagram, with breakers labeled and wire runs drawn between elements.

If the diagram opens empty, the project either has no circuits yet or has circuits without an assigned power source. Use Exit SLD & assign power source from the empty state to go fix it.

Auto-generated vs. manual edits

Topology, sizing, and breaker assignments are generated from the design. Any change to markers, connections, or Auto-size results flows into the SLD the next time it opens.

You can adjust the layout and annotations:

  • Element positions. Drag any node. Hold Shift and drag to box-select, then move multiple together. Arrow keys nudge a selected element one pixel at a time.

  • Text boxes. Click Add text box, then click on the canvas to drop one. Use these for notes, callouts, or revision tags.

  • Project info block. The title block edits inline and saves to the project.

To clear manual moves and rebuild the default layout, click Reset layout.

Navigating the canvas

  • Drag the background to pan. Scroll to zoom.

  • Use Controls to zoom in, zoom out, or fit the diagram to the viewport.

  • The MiniMap shows the whole diagram.

Exporting

Click Save in the toolbar and pick one:

  • Download as PNG. Saves the diagram to your computer.

  • Save to Photo Gallery. Files it under a Single Line Diagrams category in the project's Photo Gallery.

The export hides the toolbar, mini-map, and grid.

Sharing with inspectors or utilities

  1. Export the SLD as PNG.

  2. Attach it to the permit submittal, utility application, or email thread.

  3. Save a copy to the Photo Gallery so the team has the same revision on file.

Re-export after any design change so reviewers see the current version.
