Text labels are free-form callouts you can drop anywhere on the map to call out a transformer location, mark a phasing note, or label an area for the customer.

Add a label

  1. In the top toolbar, click Textbox.
  2. Click on the map where the label should sit. A placeholder label appears and the Inspector opens with the text selected.
  3. Type to replace the placeholder.

To drop several labels in a row, hold Shift while clicking. Press Escape to leave placement.

Edit text, size, and color

Click any label to open the Inspector. Edit:

  • Text. The label content. Changes save as you type.
  • Width and Height. Drag the value horizontally to scrub, or type a number.
  • Font size, in points
  • Alignment, left, center, or right
  • Background color and Text color. Use the swatches or enter a hex value. Set background to transparent for a clean overlay on the satellite image.

Move or remove a label

  • Move. Click the label and drag it. The label sticks to that map location at the current zoom.
  • Remove. Select the label and click Delete in the Inspector, or press Delete on your keyboard.

To reposition many labels at once, box-select them and drag any one in the group.

When to use labels

Labels are for callouts the customer will see in the design export. Common uses:

  • Area names, like "North lot," "Phase 2," or "Future expansion"
  • Equipment notes, like "Existing 480V service" or "Coordinate with utility"
  • Customer-facing context, anything that helps the project read without a verbal walkthrough

For internal-only reminders, prefer notes on the marker itself so the label does not clutter the customer's view.

Tips

  • Labels do not contribute to the bill of materials or load calcs; they are visual only.
  • Keep customer-facing labels short. One line reads cleanest at common export zoom levels.
