The Monterra PDF Builder turns a project design into a branded, customer-ready document.
Open the builder
From the project's design view, click Build PDF in the right drawer.
Choose which sections to include
Under Drag-and-drop pages in order, move cards between Included and Excluded and reorder within Included to set page order.
Sections you can include:
- Cover for logos and contact info
- Summary for key project stats
- Pricing Table for the quote breakdown
- Attachments for PDFs you upload alongside the project
- Statement of work for scope, clarifications, and exclusions
- Site Information for site survey answers
- Custom text for free-form pages
- Site Photos for photos captured during the site walk
Adjust branding
Open the top Templates card to set document-wide styling:
- Pick an Accent Color for headings and table styling.
- Pick a Font Family for body text.
- Click Open to load a saved template, or Create to save the current setup as a new template.
Open the Cover accordion to set per-project branding:
- Background image (required)
- Proposal Title for the headline
- Sender fields: Your Name, Company Name, Your Phone, Your Email, Your Logo
- Customer fields: Client Name, Client Company, Client Phone, Client Email, Client Logo
- Set proposal expiry date? to print an expiration date on the cover
Build and export
- Click Build document in the top toolbar.
- Download the rendered PDF from the preview.
- Click Save version to store the build on the project.
When the project has more than 20 photos, the dropdown next to Build document sets Export Quality: Original, High, Medium, Low, or Custom (specific resolution and quality).
Fix issues flagged before export
Build document stays disabled until the project is ready. Common blockers:
- Statement of work has unfilled dynamic text. Open Statement of work and fill in any variable still showing
${name}. - A photo could not be loaded. A toast names the skipped count. Re-upload from Site Photos before building.
- Dynamic text not refreshed. A modal asks you to confirm values are current. Review the statement of work, then click Build Document.
Tips
- Save a branded template once and reuse it with Open on future projects.
- Lowering Export Quality is the fastest fix for an oversized file before emailing it.
