Use levels in Monterra when a site has more than one floor or deck to design on. Each level holds its own floorplan and its own equipment, and only one level is active at a time.
Adding a level
- Open the level dropdown on the Design map (it shows the active level's name).
- Click Add new level.
- Rename it (see below) to something meaningful, like
Level 1,Ground floor, orDeck B.
A new level copies the settings of the one you added it from. Upload its floorplan with the Floorplan button.
Switching between levels
- Open the level dropdown and pick a level. The map redraws to show that level's floorplan and equipment.
- Or click a level name in the Site Navigator sidebar.
Anchoring equipment to a level
Equipment you place is attached to whichever level is active when you place it. To put a charger on the second floor, switch to that level first, then drop the marker.
To move an existing item to a different level, drag it in the Site Navigator onto the target level row.
Renaming and removing
- Rename. Open the level dropdown, click the pencil next to the level, edit the name, and click the check.
- Delete. Click the trash icon next to the level in the dropdown, then confirm. Deleting a level also deletes its floorplan and every map element on it. This cannot be undone.
The last remaining level cannot be deleted.
Tips
- Keep one floorplan per level. To add a second floorplan, add a second level.
- Name levels by what's on them (
Garage P1,Roof deck) so the dropdown stays readable on long projects.
