Setting up your Price Book

Your Price Book is the master pricing data (equipment costs, labor rates, markups, assemblies) that feeds every new project's quote.

What is in the Price Book

Open Price Book in the top nav. The left menu has five areas:

  • Catalog: cost & markup, every equipment category your team prices
  • Assemblies, reusable bundles you drop onto a project as one unit, split into Conduit / wire and Equipment
  • Labor rates, hourly rates and crews that drive labor cost
  • Price adjustments, markups, fees, and discounts applied by default to every new project
  • Estimating settings, how raceway labor (and tax, where available) is calculated

If you have read-only access, an Edit Access Required banner asks you to request edit access from another admin.

Setting equipment costs and markups

Inside Catalog: cost & markup, equipment is grouped by category:

  • EV charging
  • Electrical
  • Raceway System
  • Civil / Construction
  • Custom elements
  • Additional costs

Pick a category, then a sub-category, to open that equipment's grid.

Each row exposes inline fields:

  • Material cost
  • Labor hours
  • Markup percentages
  • Taxability
  • Footprint
  • Description
  • Equipment-specific attributes (voltage, amperage, kVA)

Use + Add Row for new items, or paste multi-row from Excel. The Columns menu manages custom fields.

Generic rows (catch-all entries at the top) cannot be deleted, but their values can be updated. They are the fallback when no specific match exists.

Assemblies, labor rates, and price adjustments

Assemblies bundles items so your team can drop them onto a project in one click. Two types:

  • Conduit / wire for raceway runs (a conduit plus its wires)
  • Equipment for a parent item and its typical child components

To build an equipment assembly:

  1. Click Add assembly.
  2. Name it and pick a parent type (for example, a switchgear lineup).
  3. Add children with quantities.

Use Duplicate to spin off a variation.

Labor rates defines hourly rates and groups them into crews. To set up:

  1. Click Add labor rate for each rate.
  2. Click Add crew, then Add member to crew to assemble a crew.
  3. Click Set Default Crew on the crew whose blended rate should apply to new projects.

Price adjustments has three sections:

  • Blended Price Adjustments
  • Fees
  • Discounts

Changes apply only to new projects, not ones in flight.

Estimating settings controls how raceway labor is estimated. The tax setting, where available, picks tax on cost or tax on price.

Bulk importing and exporting

For larger updates (re-pricing a category, loading a supplier price list, an annual refresh), open Import / Export from the top of the menu. It has three tabs:

  • Import / Export
  • History
  • Snapshots

To export:

  1. Open Export Price Book.
  2. Pick which tables to include (all selected by default).
  3. Click Export to Excel.

You get an .xlsx workbook with one sheet per table.

To import:

  1. Edit the exported file.
  2. Drop it into Import Price Book or use Choose File (15 MB max).
  3. Review the preview. It shows rows in file, updates, additions, and deletions per table.
  4. Confirm to apply. A safety snapshot is taken automatically before the import runs.

Cancel the preview if anything looks off.

The History tab lists every import, export, and restore. Click Undo on a past import to restore its pre-import state. To start from a blank file, click Download Template.

Tips

  • Changes do not retroactively update existing projects. They apply to the next project you create.
  • Before a big import, export first. You will have a known-good file alongside the automatic snapshot.
